Roald Dahl Day
Tuesday 13th September marked the 100th birthday of children’s author Roald Dahl and Richmond Hill pulled out all the stops to celebrate!
KS1 and KS2 pupils had the opportunity to come to school dressed as their favourite Roald Dahl book characters (or in non-uniform) and to make a donation to Roald Dahl’s Marvellous Children’s Charity, which helps to make life better for seriously ill children and young people in the UK. Our pupils raised a splendiferous £107.54 with their donations – thank you to everyone that contributed!
In July, we launched a summer reading challenge to encourage pupils to read at least six Roald Dahl books during the holidays. The winner of the challenge’s Golden Ticket, who won a copy of the Roald Dahl book Matilda and a chocolate bar, was announced on Roald Dahl Day during assembly.
