Tour de Yorkshire Relay
A selection of pupils were given the opportunity to take part in a Tour de Yorkshire cycle relay this morning, alongside pupils from all over Yorkshire!
Pupils set off on their part of the relay just before 10.00am and returned for 12.00pm, having cycled a phenomenal 9 miles, which is the longest section of the route on our leg of the relay!
Our pupils cycled from school to The Boat Inn, where they were passed a baton by pupils from Denaby. They then cycled from The Boat Inn to Castle Hills Primary to pass on the baton to the next group before cycling back to Richmond Hill.
The Doncaster leg of the relay visited Hooten Pagnell, Barnburgh, Conisbrough, Sprotbrough, Bentley, Toll Bar and Snaith, where the baton was handed off to East Riding Council.
Pupils cycled alongside two members of staff and a qualified ride leader, along with the leader of the relay. The event was organised and lead by the charity Sustrans, who encourage children and adults to take up cycling.
Well done to the pupils who took part today, who have earned a well-deserved rest!
