We are a two form entry, mixed, non-denominational primary Academy for local children. We want to ensure that our Academy is an outstanding Academy that our neighbourhood can take pride in. I hope very much to be able to welcome you to our Academy so that you can appreciate at first hand its remarkable family atmosphere and nurturing ethos.
We are a self-converter academy, an opportunity offered to only successful schools, which means that our school manages its own finances, curriculum and facilities, as we feel that we know our community and families the best. We have also secured additional funding over the last 18 months of nearly half a million pounds for building improvements. We lead on a consortium for trainee teachers through our close alliance with Leeds Beckett University and Doncaster Teaching School Alliance, coaching high quality teachers for the future through our highly skilled mentors.
United in Learning Together
Our Academy status marks a new chapter. We have a new Board of Directors who support us in our pursuit of our vision “United in Learning Together”. We have the highest ambitions for all our pupils within a broad curriculum. We offer a curriculum that focusses on English and Maths until mastery is gained and breadth can be offered. Our curriculum is enriched with music, specifically vocals, art, DT and PE, extended with science and ICT and broadened with history, geography, RE and MFL. Current accolades include winners of the Doncaster Athletic local Championships for ten years running, girls football county finalists, as well as winners of both the Don Valley Festival and the Robin Hood Junior choir and the winning Academy of the South Yorkshire Spelling Bee.
We hope that this community focus on determination and enthusiasm will be an inspiration to our pupils.
Our Academy will do everything possible to ensure that every child achieves or exceeds the educational expectations for their age every year. We’ll provide excellent teaching and engaging & stimulating lessons.
Pupils conduct is often the root of direct compliments to the Academy, as we take responsibility for nurturing and developing the personal qualities of every child and emphasise the importance of exemplary behaviour for success in, and outside, the Academy.
Our dedicated teachers and staff are wholly committed to ensuring the success of every child in the Academy. We’re also committed to working closely with parents, carers and families.
Supporting your Child’s Education
Children whose families are involved and interested in their learning do well. We communicate with parents regularly to encourage wide participation and honest conversation. We expect all parents to support their children’s educational aspirations and achievements.
My aim is that Richmond Hill Primary Academy will be an outstanding local Academy whose pupils are happy and successful. Please browse our website to find out how we plan to do it and come and meet us to find out what we can offer your child.
